The School of Classical Ballet & Dance is honored to present the timeless Christmas ballet “The Nutcracker”!
At her family’s annual Christmas party, young Clara is given a very special gift by her godfather: a wooden Nutcracker. When she falls asleep late that night her dreams take her on a magical adventure where her Nutcracker comes to life! Baby mice fill her living room, toy soldiers march in, and the Nutcracker defends Clara in a battle with the Mouse Queen. Then he takes her on a journey through dancing snowflakes to visit his kingdom, the Land of the Sweets. Clara is treated like a princess in the Land of the Sweets, and Spanish Chocolate, Arabian Coffee, Chinese Tea, Gingerbread Cookies, the Sugar Plum Fairy and many more dance to entertain her. Suddenly it all begins to fade away, and she wakes up in her living room. “Such a magical adventure!” She wonders, as she looks at her Nutcracker, “Was it only a dream?”
