Marty Stuart, the iconic country artist, has released his new album, “Altitude,” recorded in Nashville with The Fabulous Superlatives. The album embodies a cosmic country landscape with a desert flair, offering a blend of jangle and twang. Stuart’s career spans over 40 years, during which he became a Country Music Hall of Famer, a five-time Grammy Award-winner, and an AMA Lifetime Achievement honoree. He is also known for preserving country music artifacts, with plans for a cultural center called The Congress of Country Music. “Altitude” is inspired by his 2018 tour with Roger McGuinn and Chris Hillman and showcases a diverse mix of country and rock influences. The album’s emotional core shines through, with tracks like “The Angels Came Down” and the reflective title track.
