The Renaissance Fair is coming to the Hill Country. Heritage Village on Church Hill Drive is the site of the inaugural New Braunfels Renaissance Faire. It’s a 3 day event December 8 through the 10th
Starting December 8, visitors can engross themselves in archery demonstrations, sword fighting, Viking encampments, sea shanty singing pirates, and tales from Shakespeare, which includes an Shakespearean insult contest. As for food and drinks, the festival will have turkey legs, sausage on a stick, mead, and mulled wine.
However, this is no ordinary renaissance festival. For its first year, the festival is mixing the old world with a little bit of the new world by incorporating some of Heritage Village's traditional offerings of blacksmithing and wood working demonstrations, along with the firing of the cannon, but that's not all.
This renaissance festival is also bringing Old Saint Nick to the party with plans to celebrate the holiday with a little Christmas spirit. Guests will be able to browse the Christmas market, enjoy caroling, and watch scenes from a live production of A Christmas Carol.
It all starts on December 8 and runs through December 10. The festival runs from 5 to 10 p.m. on December 8 and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on December 9 and 10.
